Pumpkins and bisons!

Fall is my favorite season for decorating! I love the fall colors -- oranges, golds, dark dusty greens... the sound of crunching leaves beneath my feet, acorns all over my lawn. No, I don't like the acorns all over my lawn, but the squirrels do!

By count, I probably have more fall dishes than any other season. It was so difficult to pick which ones to use... so I started with a tablecloth. I have had this Wilendur tablecloth for years and never used it. The colors became the inspiration for the table setting.

Dear friend Kissy and I dragged out all of my fall dishes, multiple chargers, napkins and Fiesta to set this table. We ultimately ended up with my Spode Woodland Bison and Royal Staffordshire Friendly Village Pumpkin plates.

The plate stack varied based on the plate. On the bottom was a wood charger, followed by a vintage Fiesta charger, old Ivory for the Bison and vintage Turquoise for the pumpkin. The pumpkin plate was luncheon size we added a Fiesta Shamrock dinner plate below. The Fiesta colors really picked up the colors in the Spode and Royal Staffordshire.

The Treble Clef silverware is from Cost Plus, very pretty, but difficult to eat with. The glassware also picks up the color in the tablecloth, the stemless wine glass is from Hobby Lobby and the wine glass is the trusty Dollar Store green glass. I absolutely love the color the green wine glass.

The napkins are a mix to match the mixed plates. That is a mouthful! A brown gingham with a brown organza and an Indian print with a brown organza pulls the tablecloth and dishes together. the napkin rings are so old, I have no idea where they came from! We added a leaf to pick up the table cloth! It matched perfectly!

If I say I have a lot of fall dishes, I probably have an equal amount of fall serving pieces, including ones with leaves. One in particular was a gift from my bestie's son, Colin, that he made in art class for me. We scattered leaves in amongst the leave plates. We added some sunflowers that were in a dough bowl in the living room and the mums are actually napkin rings I tucked in!

I love fall table settings! I look forward to dragging ALL of my fall dishes out and setting a table! LM Montgomery who wrote Anne of Green Gables said, "I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers!"
