In a world full of roses, be a daisy!

I love daisies! Not a shocker, right? I might have mentioned it once or twice. One of the first non-Fiesta collections I began was Metlox's Sculptured Daisy. While living in Florida, I found a plate and several serving pieces at a thrift store. They went straight into my cart, and thus began my obsession. I have a few different Metlox lines, including Sculptured Zinnia, Peach Blossom, and Della Robbia. You can view a Sculptured Zinnia table here: https://www.astheluckycrowflies.com/post/zinnias-zinnias-zinnias.
Metlox, a California pottery located near Los Angeles in Manhattan Beach, was established in 1927 and ceased operations in 1989. The pottery produced various lines of dishware, including Poppytrail, Vernon Ware, and Prouty. Sculptured Daisy was manufactured from 1964 to 1983.
Sculptured Daisy features a raised ring of daisies set against an off-white neutral background, with some serving pieces having a woven pattern as well. The plate's color closely resembles the new Linen shade of Fiesta and might also be an uncolored glaze. The daisies are vibrant and cheerful, highlighted by a warm tan-colored wash.

Several serving pieces are accented with raised daisies. Both the coffee server and the butter dish feature daisies on their lids. The Poppytrail line was known for its distinctive serving piece shapes, with more angular designs and filled-in handles.

Today is a gloomy, rainy sort of day, so I decided to brighten it with daisies! The dish stack is simple: a sunny yellow placemat, a dinner plate, and a dessert bowl topped with a Jade Fiesta Salsa bowl. The silverware is my everyday Mikasa Harmony. The glassware is a daisy print by Anchor Hocking; the artist is "Hildi." The napkin rings are a mod daisy print in moss green, such a fun pattern! I stuck a single daisy in each napkin to carry the theme.

To complete the table, I included a Fiesta vase in Jade filled with artificial daisies and forsythia. Spring is in the air, and although I believed I had numerous Fall dishes, it seems I have just as many for spring, so expect more tables soon!
