Hello Autumn!

"Leaves are falling, autumn is calling." I love the word "autumn" I don't know why, I think is an elegant word. My favorite part about decorating for Fall is autumn - the weeks prior to Thanksgiving. Luscious golds, oranges, reds, browns, dusty greens. The colors are so vibrant.

Halloween came down early in the morning on November 1st. All in a pile, sorted into tubs, into the garage! Where they sit... because we would end up burying all the Christmas tubs!

First sighting of my Nora Fleming Fiesta platter!!! Isn't the cornucopia adorable? I layered a vintage Fiesta three-tier platter on it and put our fruit on it. There is a new florist at our local Farmer's Market, the flowers are so pretty -- mums, marigolds, protea, on the other side were tiny pinky peach tea roses. They fit perfectly in the Persimmon vase. All sitting on a pretty plaid napkin.

Our foyer is so easy to decorate for different seasons. Once again, Pattycakes, photo bombed my picture. I have quite a few plaid blankets for throwing on the bench to match the season. Vintage Faribault blankets are my favorite, and not just because my room mate from college is from Faribault, MN. They are cozy, colorful and cheap to find!

The living room and dining room get swags of color plus various fall squashes, pumpkins and persimmons. Fiesta is featured in vases, soup tureen and candle holders.

On the table in the hallway I finally used a vintage lamp bottom I found 20+ years ago when we lived in Philadelphia. I loved the colors of the flowers on it, I have no idea who made it, but I stuck some leaves in the hole at the top and I think it looks nice with the Fiesta and leaf plates.

"Leaves are falling, autumn is calling." Next up autumn and Thanksgiving tablescapes!
