Give thanks with a grateful heart

The last few years my Thanksgiving tables have been subdued or even neutral, pretty, but this year I wanted color! As my traditional Thanksgiving china is Evesham Gold, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to set the table differently!

You can see previous years tables here:

The tablecloth set the foundation for the table and added a lot of color! I kept several of the elements from my last Fall table including the napkins, some of the glassware and parts of the centerpiece. A gold scarf is bunched (elegantly!) down the middle of the table.

The plate stack starts with a mango wood charger I purchased from At Home, I've been wanting to use them in a table for awhile. In this picture, the wood color looks lighter than they are. The white wash on them pick up the white of the Royal Worcester Evesham Gold.

The dinner plate is my usual Thanksgiving china, Royal Worcester Evesham Gold. A few years ago I was browsing Facebook Marketplace, and here in my own town was a woman selling her entire set including double handled soup bowls! I had never seen the soup bowls so reached out and asked if I could buy just them? She would not sell them separately! We went back forth several times, finally hubby said, "just go buy the whole set!" and off I went! For dinner, we will not be serving soup, but aren't the bowls gorgeous?? Turns out she is a bit of a dish collector too, having worked in a Lenox store. She has the most beautiful set of Lenox Autumn, which is one of my favorite patterns and on my wishlist! (Repeat after me, "I don't need any more sets of formal china...")

After the dinner plate is a new purchase from my local antique store, an Amber Anchor Hocking "Swirl" bread plate. Somehow I only bought four of them, so the head and foot of the table has green "Swirl" bread plates. On top the bread plate is the double handled soup bowl and saucer.

Silverware is Towle Candlelight and the adorable spoons I bought on Etsy a few years ago. I reused my Estelle wine glasses and at the head and foot of the table used the Dollar Store green wine glasses. Napkins are re-rolled from previous table with different napkin rings and head foot have a different colored napkin to match table cloth. I do need to polish the silverware, I had read somewhere that you can use the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers instead of a silver polish, I am a little afraid to try it, but it sure would be easier! Finally, the water glasses are my Waterford Mourne glasses.

The centerpiece is my Fiesta Marigold Soup tureen filled with Fall foliage, faux sugared fruit and feathers. The fruit in the centerpiece echoes the fruit designs on the china. Faux candles tucked in next the centerpiece completed the table. I do love the Evesham Gold!

For the first time in many many years Kissy and I will not be participating in the San Jose Turkey Trot, so we will walk 5k around the neighborhood, and come home to Bloody Marys and begin cooking. Pies are baked, serving bowls are staged with post its in them on what goes in them, we are ready! Planning for a late afternoon dinner and football on the television all day!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, friends and framily!
