Fab India!

As part of my job I've been very lucky to travel to Bengaluru India several times. In addition to seeing my team, one of my favorite parts of visiting is shopping! The markets are so colorful and there are so many brightly printed fabrics. My favorite store is Fab India and there are several of them in and around Bengaluru (this post is not sponsored by or affliated with the store.) The store has beautiful clothing, linens, jewelry and home items. I am glad I pack light to be able to bring some goodies home. Recently, one of my team traveled to the US and he and his wife picked out a tablecloth and placemats for me as a gift. So Dinesh, this table is for you!

The tablecloth has Periwinkle, denim blue, Ivory and Paprika in it, so I used those color Fiesta plates. The tablecloth is a block print with a beautiful border. The placemats are Periwinkle and denim blue herringbone print. The colors are perfect for anytime of year and match the colors in my house perfectly! I've picked up a few other tablecloths that will be featured in other posts to come. Needless to say, the bright colors have caught my eye!

This table isn't too matchy matchy -- a bit eclectic! To start with, there are two different plate stacks. The head and foot of the table have one stack and the sides another. First, the sides; anchored by a mango wood charger and a layered with Fiesta Paprika plate and a Windsor Ware Dover brown transferware appetizer plate. Treble Clef silverware and Lenox Valencia glasses in light blue complete the setting. The napkin is a cocktail size napkin with embroidery on it, and a faux Ivory napkin ring.

For the head and foot of the table, the second plate stack is an original Ivory Fiesta chop plate layered with a Periwinkle blue dinner plate and the transferware appetizer plate. The glass is a Fostoria Versailles ice tea glass in blue.

The transferware echoes the pattern in the table cloth a tiny bit and adds interest to the whole table. I love mixing colors and patterns together that are unexpected!

The centerpiece is simple, a couple of plants and candles. The candles pick up the colors and the plants (faux) set off the wood chargers. We are huge fans of Indian foods, being in the Bay Area, we have lot's of choices of Indian restaurants. Someday, I would love to learn to cook Indian dishes, my oldest uses a lot of India spices cooking, although I would not call his food Indian! An Indian market just opened in town, maybe we will venture in! I love the spice!

Live your life with a little bit of spice!
