Christmas Dinner

Like everyone else, Christmas Eve dinner was a small affair. I had such a hard time deciding how to set the table. I had found adorable plaid kitchen towels at Target and wanted to use them with the Spode transferware I found at Goodwill, I thought maybe for Christmas breakfast, but then as I was trying different settings, I decided to use them Christmas Eve dinner.

Lenox Holiday was my wedding china. We were married in December, so it seemed appropriate, luckily my husband recognized my dish passion early and agreed on this choice for our registry. I love Lenox Holiday, it so elegant and so formal. This table is decidedly in-formal!

The plate stack is a gold charger, various Spode Archive Collection - Cranberry Botanical, Floral, British Flowers, Jasmine and May. Next are various green depression glass salad plates, topped with a Homer Laughlin Harvest plate, I don't know the name of the pattern. The glassware is Waterford Mourne ice tea glasses and alternating emerald and ruby Anchor Hocking bubble bottom glasses, I think they are also called "Boopies."

Santa hats wait at each chair. The centerpiece is from Kirkland's, it moves around year to year... sometimes on the dining table, sometimes on the mantle, sometimes in the living room - it works just about anywhere!

Christmas dinner was stuffed shells, salad, loaf of homemade no-knead bread and bottle of Caldwell wine. We used the Fiesta sauce boat because I didn't want to dig out the Lenox one. Dinner was Yum!
